The theme to the last book that we finished for book clubs, She Said Yes would probably be think about what you do before you do it because your actions are important in many different ways. My first reason why this is a good theme for this is because the people in this book that had a sick mind decided to go and shoot up the Columbia school with all the high schoolers in it.  Many loved teens died in this tragic accident. Maybe if the people that did this thought about what they were about to do and how scared and upset families and the teens would be they wouldn’t have done what they did. Another reason I think that that’s a good theme for this book is because Cassie turned into a bad kid doing drugs, writing letters to her “best friend” Mona making plans to kill their parents, listening to crazy music that influenced her to be worst and other bad actions. I think that maybe if Cassie actually thought about her actions and realized that she was going to hurt her family by acting like this, and impacting her little brothers life, maybe she wouldn’t have taken part in all this bad stuff. For example her brother had to move schools because Cassie’s parents couldn’t trust her at the school she was going to with Mona and her boyfriend there supporting all the bad stuff she was taking part in.

My favorite character in my book is probably Cassie’s mom. The reason Cassie’s mom is my favorite character and the one person in this book that I would like to meet is because, she is a very strong person. She pushes through all the bad things that happen in life. For example when Cassie’s mom found out what was really happening in Cassie’s life, like finding notes that threat she’s going to kill them. Also when she finds out that she’s doing drugs, and other really bad things with her “best friend” Nora. When she found out about all these things she just switched Cassie to a different school, and stopped letting her hang out with bad influences. One more piece of evidence from the text is when Cassie got shot in the shooting that went on at her high school, the mom stayed calm and instead of freaking out just stayed calm even though that is probably the worst thing to ever happen for a mother.

My favorite character from any book that I have read before is Liz. Liz is a character from the book that I read last year for book clubs, Elsewhere. This character changed throughout the book, because Liz at the beginning of the novel was all rude and upset about her new life in elsewhere, because she wasn’t used to having this type of lifestyle.  She began to realize that it’s ok to life a little differently, especially since she had passed away and was now in the “heavenly world”.  Liz realized that she could make new friends, and start over until she reincarnated into a new person in the real world. Liz began to realize towards the middle/ end of the book that you can’t change anything by being upset and annoyed all the time, so live up to what you have no matter what the situation is. At the beginning of this story I thought Liz was a very selfish, self centered girl, but then she changed her attitude towards her new life.

My favorite book that I have read is probably Elsewhere, I enjoyed this book a lot when I read it last year in book clubs. I thought it was a great book with lots of ongoing action, and some drama that you really had to pay attention to.  It was just about the life in heaven when you die pretty much, and the author made the world so real, and I felt as if I was with the main character in Elsewhere.
I usually read the genre realistic fiction, or horror/mysteries.
I had just finished a book called The Babysitter, this book was about a teenage girl named Jenny that got a babysitting job from these people that she had only met once at the mall. She went over to their house very nervous about this job, but she tried to stay calm for the parents’ sake since the dad was a worry wart to begin with. Donny’s dad was always talking about people braking into houses, while the babysitters there. The house was an old creepy house, but that’s not the only thing that creeped Jenny out. Donny the little kid that Jenny was babysitting, always tried to freak Jenny out, by doing pranks and “funny” jokes on her. Jenny didn’t find them too funny, but tried to make the best out of her new job. She played hid and seek with him, and other games but everything she tried he still just wanted to scare her. Donny was a good kid though.  But Jenny wasn’t worried about Donny freaking her out anymore. As the story goes on freaky things start to really happen. The phone rings and all she hears is breathing, someone knocks at the door and it’s the “neighbor” that she didn’t know about. Jenny feels like it’s just her being too paranoid. But really quickly Jenny figures out that this isn’t about her being paranoid, it’s a living nightmare that she got herself into. She tries to fight the fear, but it is too late everything just got worst. Will this end up with people getting hurt, and very worried. Why did Jenny have to meet that family at the mall? Why did this have to happen to her? The worst thing to ask is will everything be okay, and will everything be back to normal once everybody is back to the house and safe?
